It’s just breath taking to see the moment when gender becomes fluid. In Saturation magazine issue 02, we celebrate the power of FASHION, an amazing way for people to explore and express their gender identity. So there couldn’t be a better name for the second issue other than POWER.
It is truly a wonderful time nowadays. Step by step, we realize it is time to free ourselves, from anything. The old definition of gender, which has so many restrictions and rules, doesn’t make sense any more. A fluid idea is dying to come out. We wear clothes everyday, for a reason. It’s our second skin. A way to express our feelings, to make a statement. Cause what we wear can be seen and effect everyone. That makes it a powerful tool for us to express our own opinion about gender.
Every clothes has a story. It might be a key to a new world and a mirror to the true self. In POWER issue, we get to discover the interesting and inspiring stories behind the piece that gives people the first taste of the fluid experience and find their true identity. We can see the magic world Jean creates to heal herself/himself/themselves. A world she/he/they find her/his/their identity through experimenting with the fashion style. That red dress from Jason is a dress that we can not miss. It has the magic to make Jason feel confident and sexy. Then, there is an adventure for Alex to explore from the old notion of masculinity to a more playful one. Applause for Lady Laritza! She gets to bring her/his/their fearless attitude to the table to show everyone who is the queen. Last but not least, Nic does not come to play. Driven by pure elegance, her/his/their fashion style is just beautiful and inspiring.
Fashion is powerful, but not enough to change our society and notion by itself. It’s people that bring the fluid idea into life. And I’m grateful that I get the chance to showcase these amazing people who has the courage and confidence to break free.
